The exhibition features works by more than 120 B.F.A. candidates from KCAI. It runs from April 18 through May 16. A closing reception is planned for 6 to 8 p.m. May 15. The event is free and open to the public.

Tank is the result of a three-year research collaboration between Glenn Kaino and Grand Arts, with assistance from Aquamoon (Chicago), and academic and hobbyist coral husbandry experts throughout the United States. Tank is inspired in part by Reef-Ex, a U.S. government program in place since the 1990’s, which involves the dumping of outdated military tanks into coastal waters in order to create artificial reefs and fish habitats.

Sculptures, prints, and various digital media by Michael Rose will be displayed in both a physical space and in an online interactive environment. Rose works through print and digital media to address the formation of values in regards to the Post Internet world.Rose is a 2015 BFA candidate at the Kansas City Art Institute.

This event will showcase local Kansas City clothing line, Sex & Ice Cream’s, newest spring collection and senior thesis as well as additional runway shows by local Kansas City designer Bas of Honnetebas and Des Moines local vintage brand Vintage Salvation. Local designers, artists and makers Brockstar, Laura Millar, Heather Schultz, Kaleigh Powell – Robertson, and Jacoby Warlick will be selling one-of-a-kind goods at the event in a featured pop-up shop alongside booths from featured designers Vintage Salvation and Sex & Ice Cream.

This symposium is designed to highlight and expand the local and national conversation about contemporary performance art practice, through three days of making and discussing the local and national ecology of emerging performance art. Yeah, No, I Mean It: Time, Situation, Dexterity is curated by Kansas City-based artist Jessica Borusky. There will be performances April 16-18 from 7-9 pm at La Esquina.

The Hown’s Den

Linear Spaces is a site-specific installation responding to the familiarity and comforts of home by Kansas City artist, curator and educator Cory Imig. This minimal installation uses line to divide up the interior domestic environment of the Hown’s Den.
