Isabel Vargas is a Puerto Rican artist and curator born in New York City, raised in Miami, FL and currently working in Kansas City, MO. Currently, Isabel works at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Fine Art as an Andrew W. Mellon Curatorial Fellow in the South and Southeastern Asian Department and a curatorial assistant in the Dodge Gallery at the Kansas City Art Institute. Her practice and research primarily focuses on exploring the intersection of gender and race.
