Artists Elizabeth Allen-Cannon and Shelby Keierleber are exploring our our stuff helps to solidify the identity we present to others. Showing the objects one displays or the experience  related to it, show us how these things distinguish us from others.

 

Bohemian Magazine Release Party: Volume 2 Issue 2

Bohemian Magazine is releasing their Spectrum Issue dealing with gender, sexuality, and the formation of identity. This issue is meant to be a tool against rigid categories and labels that often deter productive discussion of serious issues. More than 35 contributors are featured in this large scale print issue that will be available for purchase at the release.

Justin Beachler is regurgitating the Internet with ENTERFACE. Multiple web-inspired domestic installations will be displayed both in the gallery and online via Second Life.

 

Making Histories

Friday 6-8pm

H&R Block Artspace

Exploring the impulse to reexamine the past and revisit history in contemporary art.  The works in the exhibition interrelate based on global events from the 20th century that have been a part of our collective memory. Artists include Lene Berg (Norway), Chen Shaoxiong (China), Jeremy Deller (Britain), Mary Reid Kelley with Patrick Kelley (US), Anri Sala (Albania), Anna Von Mertens (US), and Hank Willis Thomas (US)
