Select Username and Password is a one night only exhibition by BOIBOY and Blair Schulman that examines the many faceted nature of crusing for sex. Featuring collaborations between Schulman, Kevin Heckart, and Matthew Johnson along with installations by BOIBOY, this show will highlight the hidden and overt protocols of the digital and IRL spaces in which these actions occur.

In relation to the Charlotte Street Foundation’s 20th anniversary celebration, KCAI’s CGCCP presents two exhibitions in tandem by Charlotte Street Award Fellows. Works in Thompson-Ruffin’s Revolutionary Awakening feature collaborations with Glenn North and Rodney M Thompson looking at both the history of African American women’s social clubs and a close look at society’s relationship to social activism. Max Key’s self-titled exhibition showcases large scale paintings of candy-like landfills.

A Saturday morning youth focused discussion and workshop connected to current exhibitions TerraForm and Lactobacillus Amongus. This workshop – let by KC arts educator Dennis Helsel- will invite children and parents to discuss their thoughts and ideas related to the current shows. Following, there will be an informal demo and supplies to make work in relation to the discussion.

In relation to Pride month, PLUG Projects is collaborating with area artist BOIBOY for a Hanky Code workshop. This workshop (18+) will discuss the visual system of the Hanky Code used by gay men in the queer community to flag potential partners. The workshop will discuss its relation to material vs digital culture and coincide with a dying workshop, for the participants to create their own hankies. The workshop coincides with the one night only exhibition Select Username and Password at Front/Space
