TRADE LOOK SHIP, a collaboration between artist groups from Kansas City, Milwaukee, and Chicago which originated from a scavenger hunt list. A series of artists involved created 10 projects in response for their city, and they have been printed onto postcards. While this exhibition travels between cities it hopes to begin a dialogue about photography and build a photographic community within the Midwest. This regional postal/cultural exchange is presented by Archive Collective.

This month’s KC Connect Exhibition, sponsored by KC Studio Magazine, is exhibiting a series of collaborative acts utilizing photography, performance, and installation. Two brand new solo exhibitions from Debra Smith and Lisa Grossman. Smith’s Shifting Territory is comprised of abstract compositions made from fabric that are quite geometric and reminiscent of aerial maps. Grossman’s work in REACH take full advantage of moments where the natural world can become fully abstract.

Saturday, September 6th, The Hown’s Den is hosting a housewarming for their new space and a silent auction. They are hoping to raise $300 to help cover expenses of two artists from Milwaukee they hope to show in October. Featured artists include: Jill Downen, Justin Beachler, Casey Whittier, Amy Kligman, Tonia Klein & Christopher Willey, Linz n’ Chaz, Robert Howsare, and Crystal Ann Brown
